Valerie Collanton is an attorney in the firm’s Sacramento office. Ms. Collanton specializes in complex litigation and has represented a broad range of clients before state and federal courts. Her practice has involved energy and antitrust matters, having represented a large major public utility in litigation stemming from the Western energy crisis. She was a member of the trial team in two major antitrust cases that went to verdict. She has also represented clients in matters involving trade secrets, intellectual property disputes, employment issues, class actions and securities fraud. Ms. Collanton began her career as a prosecutor for New York County under Robert M. Morgenthau where she successfully first-chaired numerous felony trials. She is admitted to practice in California, New York and the United States Virgin Islands. Ms. Collanton graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law where she was Chief Managing Editor of the Hastings International & Comparative Law Review.
